The Greek entertainment businesses in Sudan

(Excerpt from the book ‘The Greek community in Sudan’)

The Greeks of Sudan focused their professional activity on two main categories throughout the 20th century, trade and constructions. However, few of them owned coffee shops and restaurants. Typical is the case of “Great Britain” that belonged to Panagiotis Pagoulatos. It included a restaurant, pastry shop and bar. Gradually, it evolved into one of the largest cabarets of Khartoum.
